$6 Happy Hour at Capital Grille

September 21, 2011 by Hedonista · Leave a Comment

With the economic situation anything but hedonistic, finding good deals that provide pleasure are on every hedonist’s radar. Right now, precisely one such deal is worth a look-see, and at a surprising location, no less.

The location is The Capital Grille in downtown Seattle’s historic Cobb Building – well, Seattle in particular, but also at their Beverly Hills, Los Angeles location. I was told by a staff member that this deal may also spread to more of their some 45 locations spread out across the United States.

My fav Happy Hour Elevated bar menu offerings, from left to right: Pan-Fried Calamari, Miniature Signature Cheeseburgers, and Parmesan Truffle Fries.

Recently, your Hedonista was privy to some media tastings of these new deal menus. This deal – dubbed “Happy Hour Elevated” – was launched in mid-June. It runs weekdays from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and includes eight signature cocktails, select glasses of wine, and eight bar menu items, with each and every single item priced at $6 a piece. Although all of the offerings are downright hedonistically tasty, my favs include the following: their pan-fried calamari, served with lemon and hot cherry peppers instead of garlic aioli (which isn’t even missed); Miniature Signature Cheeseburgers, served with fresh and pickled veggies as well as a selection of condiments on the side, and Parmesan Truffle Fries (I need not say more, here).

Some of the $6 signature cocktail offerings. First, the back row, left to right: The Grapefruit Buck, The Bohemian, and the Mojito De Uvas. Front and center is the Stoli Doli, served up since 1990.

On the beverage side of things, fav cocktails include The Bohemian (Absolut Peach vodka, mixed berry cordial, Champagne, and raspberries/strawberries – a cousin of the Bellini), The Grapefruit Buck (Absolut Ruby Red grapefruit vodka, Elderflower cordial, ginger beer, lime juice, Campari and a citrus wedge – sort of a complicated Greyhound), the Mojito De Uvas (Bacardi Light Rum, lime juice, cane sugar syrup, mint, green grapes, and Champagne – a mojito redux), and the Captial Grille’s signature Stoli Doli, served since 1990 (Stolichnaya vodka house infused with pineapples – my fav of their cocktails).

So if you get a hankerin’ for a happy hour, consider Capital Grille’s six buck bonanza, dear hedonists. It’s truly one of the best deals in town.
