Fear-Themed Mezzo Lunatico

Want to attend a late-night cabaret-style show – as in 11:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. (doors open at 11:00 a.m., and the show runs from 11:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.)? Perhaps one themed according to the season and/or upcoming holiday, but with a deliciously naughty twist? Perhaps a darker, sexier, edgier performance à la Teatro ZinZanni (TZ), complete with a 21 years or older audience requirement? And – as if this isn’t the proverbial icing on the cake, or perhaps sprinkles on the doughnut – how about one that’s sponsored by Top Pot Doughnuts?

Catherine D'Lish: contemporary striptease virtuoso, headlining performer for Playboy’s 50th Anniversary Tour, and winner of over thiry competitive titles, including a member of the Burlesque Hall of Fame. She is also known as the creative director/choreographer for Dita Von Teese. (Personally, I've always wanted a photo of myself taken just like this.) The October-December quarter line-up for Mezzo Lunatico, Teatro Zinzanni's newest half-crazy creation (literally) - that should prove to be unlike Seattle's mainstream shows. Image provided by Teatro Zinzanni, used with permission.
Then consider one of three upcoming shows of the new Mezzo Lunatico. TZ’s latest creation Mezzo Lunatico – which translates to “half-crazy” – is a late-night once-a-month varieté show that will be hosted and curated by long-time TZ performers. Here’s the next quarter’s performance roster:
Saturday, October 30, 2010: Theme = “Fear.” To be curated by El Vez (who shares his inspiration for this show) and feature Mudhoney singer Mark Arm, burlesque performer Catherine D’Lish, Scotty the Blue Bunny, Manuele Horn, and male neo-burlesque performer Luminous Pariak and the Wildcard Acrobats, along with live music by Los Lunatiques and dancing by DJ Chrispo, this event should be intensifying innovative and interesting, to say the least. (To access the performer bios, click here.)
Saturday, November 20, 2010: Theme = “Thankful.”
Saturday, December 18, 2010: Theme = “Putting the X Back into X-Mas.”
And with tickets only $20 a pop (with a two-drink minimum), and new noshies to nibble, you may just want to, er, explode (and, maybe later on at home, explore) yourself. (Ahem!)
(Your Hedonista plans to attend their first event as media, so stay tuned!)
