Makin’ Bacon … Jam

What do you think of when you think of jam?
Is it sweet – or even tart – fruit?
Or … is it salivatingly seductive savory bacon?
If you answered with the latter response, then chances are you’ve tried Skillet Street Food’s bacon jam. Perhaps you noticed that Martha Stewart’s inner circle of bloggers recommended it as a fab 2009 Christmas gift idea.
Think bacon pâté … really more like the texture of bacon rillettes. It’s richly meaty goodness is accented with onion and seasonings that make it great on burgers, sammies, crackers, and breads. Add it to egg dishes during your weekend brunches. Or eat it straight out of the jar with a spoon, fork, knife, chopstick, breadstick, or finger.
It’s $12 a jar and available at The Swinery, Ballard’s Snacks! and the Skillet Street Food website.
So go on, be a swine: start makin’ bacon … jam and cracker snacks.
