Next Friday: SAM’s Party in the Park

If good food, drink, art, and entertainment for one philanthropic price are right up your hedonistic alley, then have I the event for you: an outdoor gathering that will take place next Friday, June 17th, 2011 from 8:00 p.m. to midnight, rain or shine (so dress appropriately, in your best Pacific Northwest style, be it linen and leather, flannel and fleece, or Gore-Tex and Gucci).
The Seattle Art Museum (SAM) is holding its 4th annual (er, make that 3rd annual, as they skipped 2009) 21+ event dubbed Party in the Park. This event – which began back in the spring of 2008, with the SAM’s 75th Anniversary – is a fundraiser for artistic and outreach programs at both SAM and the Olympic Sculpture Park (OSP). Held at the OSP, the cost of entry to this year’s Party in the Park is the same for both members and non-members: $75 in advance or $100 at the door (if available). And this one cost covers everything found inside the party: “Beautiful Beats, Bountiful Eats, and Artistic Feats”:

Beautiful Beats – Hey Marseilles, The Paperboys, Curtains For You, and The Lumineers, along with dance music curated by Dave Hernandez from the Shins and the DJ beats of DJ Aanshul and DJ ‘G’.
Bountiful Eats – For this night, food trucks take over the park: Dante’s Inferno Dogs, Maximus/Minimus, Molly Moon Ice Cream, Skillet Street Food, Street Treats, and Veraci Pizza. There will also be a Northwest beer and wine hosted bar.
Artistic Feats – As if music, food and drink weren’t enough, the SAM is rolling out “artist-designed interactive play and experiences” with Claudia Fitch, Sol Hashimi and Jason Hirata, Susan Robb, and Carolina Silva.
So plan to party in the Olympic Sculpture Park next Friday; and, if you can’t make it or aren’t so inclined, Know that your Hedonista will be attending as media and reporting back….
