Are you an angel, or a demon?

Hotel 1000’s spa located in downtown Seattle – aptly named Spaahh – has recently launched a new spa menu line this past August: their Angelic Morsels and Sinful Indulgences. For when spa-goers enjoy a spa experience, they tend to lean one of two ways: über healthy or über self-indulgent. So now Spaahh offers treatments … from head … to toe … to stomach.

The luxurious Hot Stone massage ($145-$175) or the unique Hawaiian Lomi Lomi ($145-$160) are strongly recommended and well worth the investment. A tad more than you were hoping to spend in these tight times? Fear not, my frugal hedonists – for the Spaahh Happy Hour, available Monday-Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., offers an array of under-$50 spa treatments, from brow and lip waxes ($16) to nail polish changes ($16-32) to 30-minute express facials ($46) and pick-me-up massages ($48).

Should you feel peckish after all of these luxurious treatments or want to grab a lunch while you’re taking part in the mid-afternoon Happy Hour, options now abound, served to you right in the spa (with you decked out in nothing more than your robe and slippers, no less). The Angelic Morsels menu serves up everything from light and nourishing soups and salads to seafood – specifically their wild Alaskan king salmon burger and sugarcane skewered mini crab cakes. The Sinful Indulgences menu foregoes the salads altogether and offers a heartier, richer smoked seafood chowder, BOKA grilled cheese + soup, grilled painted hill’s beef satay, and those comforting mussels + frites.

Angelic crab cakes.

Angelic crab cakes.

Devilish beef satay.

Devilish beef satay.

Merely say the word and all of these delightful noshies can be served up with their signature cocktails (or mocktails, if you feel you must abstain from the ol’ evil spirits).

Because sometimes we want to be angelic.

And sometimes we want to be devilish.

At Spaahh, you pick.

The cocktails come with tempting names like coconut mojito, northwest collins, and crush. The mocktails come with intriguing mnames like aahh...spaahh, cactus cooler, red havana, and raging bull.

P.S. – Keep checking in with both Spaahh and Heed the Hedonist for their monthly specials.  This month of October there is both a spicy and a peeling (sorry, just couldn’t resist) two-fold offering:

1) A sugar ‘n’ spice organic Pumpkin Pedi (60 minutes, $65), complete with BOKA’s signature Northwest Collins.  Step out and add a lil’ spice to both your pieds and your palate!

2) The Angelic Face of Autumn event, complete with food & wine, on October 22nd from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (30 min Glycolic Peel Treatments, $45 to R.S.V.P., with $15 retail credit). Go shed the sins of summer and get a fresh face for fall!  The Hedonista will be there once again as media … and sure to report back.

Note: In order to comply with FTC Act 16 C.F.R. 255, Heed the Hedonist would like to disclose that it does receive media “comps” and/or media discounts – but not in exchange for favorable coverage, or for withholding unfavorable coverage, of the given venue/meal/performance/product/service.
