Seastar’s Chocolate Truffles – Who Knew?

It’s still February, so the stores literally floweth over with chocolate.

A trio of truffles, times two: back row, left to right: orange dark chocolate, chili pepper, Bailey's Irish cream; front row: cappuccino, hazelnut, and semi-sweet dark chocolate.

But there’s good chocolate, dear hedonists, not-so-good chocolate, and – at least some would argue – flat out bad chocolate.

Who knew seafood, raw food, and chocolate could go so well together?

Last month, your Hedonista gave a fine review – a gold star, in fact – to Seastar Restaruant and Raw Bar. It was then I sampled a couple of their chocolate truffles as a media comp – and promptly returned to purchase more (hope they give me an ongoing media rate)!

They offer six flavors; in my order of preference, they are: semi-sweet dark chocolate, chili pepper, orange dark chocolate, hazelnut, Bailey’s Irish cream, and cappuccino. They sell one of each on their dessert menu for $10.

So go forth and tasteth, dear hedonists … for these tasty two+-bites-a-truffle (they aren’t small) definitely land themselves in the “good chocolate” category.

Note: In order to comply with FTC Act 16 C.F.R. 255, Heed the Hedonist would like to disclose that it does receive media “comps” and/or media discounts – but not in exchange for favorable coverage, or for withholding unfavorable coverage, of the given venue/meal/performance/product/service.
